2D/3D Overclocking!?
I read on the net recently that it is popular for people to UNDERCLOCK the 2D Graphics card clocks in order to achieve higher OVERCLOCKS in 3D Mode.
They claim 2D mode is useless and is just a source of unnecessery heat. What do you guys think? Have any of the overclocking "guru's" tried this yet???

Thats not the point. I dont know how much experience you have had with overclocking 2D clocks in the past, but from my experience as well as others you dont get very far (few mhz over the stock and you get artifacts in windows). I dont know anyone that actually overclcoks their 2D clocks.Nerevar wrote:Yes but the only thing that increases when you OC 2d on the nvidia cards is the speed of video and pictures.
My question was regarding whether it helps to underclock your 2D clock speeds (hence reducing heat etc.), in order to get a higher 3D clock....
