counterstrike Source - PLEASE HELP with online problem

Hey peeps

I went through the first 5 pages but could not find a related topic - SORRY

I have recently obtained CS: Source v1.34.
Last night I wanted to go play online, but the servers kept telling me I do not have the correct CS version?

I tried searching the net via google for updates, upgrades, new versions etc.

Can some-one assist me with which version I need to have in order to play online, also where I can download this from?

Thanx peeps I would really appreciate it.

P.S I tried logging into about 94 servers and all said the same.

Is it a legal copy ? Running the update will fix your probleme but only if its not a pirate copy

How do I check that ? I downloaded it from the MPLD server thus assuming that it would be legal???

or even just Half Life 2...

available through most retailers, (BT games, IC, etc)

you'd better have an above average net connection...

was pointed out that you could also just grab it off of steam without the need to go through installing all valve's games...

however, the valve packages include CS:S for free.. so.. not exactly without merit..

It's almost certainly not a legal copy. These copies you get at LANs are pirate copies. They allow you to play over the LAN without even using steam.

Step one: Delete that crap off your HDD
Step two: Download steam
Step three: Buy CS: S through steam.

Easy as that.

EDIT: BTW, Rusty, CS: S doesn't come with Orange Box

I steall all my games from orphan kids so all my games are free.

but ja fear multiplayer be free and css legit is easy to get hold of steam and a friendly credit card and some cap.

or you peeps should try this one out...

www.cspromod.com however the updates for it are relatively slow still
but still nice mod concerning 1.6 mixed in with the CSS,
