new gpu
High I'm trying to decide witch of these 3 gpu's are the best for gaming
msi gts 450 R1073
kfa2 gt 640 R980
Gigabyte hd 6770 R1027
kfa2 gtx 550 ti R1167
kfa2 gtx 650 ex oc R 1256
Gigabyte hd 7750 oc R1172
The games I want to play are battlefield 3,Hitman absolution,COD MW3,Assassins creed 3, and GTA 5 when they are released. I want to play these games at 1280x720 on high and maybe at 1920x1080 on low.
my system: intel core i3 540
foxconn h55mxv
6gb ram
Thermaltake 450watt 80+
PS. no i can't afford anything better.

Re: new gpu
Your really only looking at either the gtx 650 or 7750 when it comes to the age perspective. I would throw in the 6770 and 550ti since they were decent budget cards. Have a look at toms hardware or 3d guru for some benchmarks.

Re: new gpu
If possible spending a slight bit more for the gtx650ti would be a better buy.
But if not the plain 650 and the 7750 are the best two there.

Re: new gpu
I'd put the 650 over the 7750. Seems the 7770 is slower than the 650.

Re: new gpu
How will the gtx 650 do in those games. The gtx 650ti is R1000 more than the gtx 650.

Re: new gpu
this is a review on the 650ti but the 650 is included in the benchmark results. Seems it will give you perfectly acceptable fps even at 1080p and at high(ish) settings:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gef ... 318-6.html
If you shop around you will find that the 650ti is not 1000 more(there is an msi 650ti for R1766 at rebeltech). But the 650ti is a noticeable amount faster

Re: new gpu
I'm brand loyal to MSI. Gigabyte is the only other brand I would recommend without hesitating too much. Most brands use stock settings anyway so no brand should be bad unless you start seeing them at a much cheaper price point. Then you should start asking questions, even with good brands.

Re: new gpu
Well what about overcloking the gpu would it give any performance gains around the 10% mark
Re: new gpu
If you head over to the Carbonite forums you could score a sweet deal on a second hand gpu, with all the upgrading that happens around this time of year. You'd probably get one still within warranty too.

Re: new gpu
For R1300 I'd say go for the HD6950. Try to see if you can't get postal delivery.

Re: new gpu
But is the gtx 650 10% faster than the hd 7750.
Re: new gpu
Read this Conclusion of a review: LINK
On the whole, it doesn't look like it gains that much over the 7750. What happened to the 6950 etc?
