Case options
Hey people was wondering which case is better for an i5-750 and a really hot gtx470. The cooler master haf 912 or cooler master 690 II advanced?

Corrected. I'm getting really sick of opinionated, spoiled brats passing their ungrounded opinion off as fact around this place now.THE_STIG wrote:The Haf of course[citation needed]
To answer the original poster now: I've taken a brief look at both cases you've mentioned. Given that you mention heat as a major factor, the 690 II Advanced seems to have better air cooling capabilities, but may be more cramped than the HAF 912 (so I'd take the HAF if water cooling is on your agenda). That being said, both will do the job just fine, so just pick the one you like best and have done with it.
That being said: what's your budget? There may be reasonable alternatives from other manufacturers out there that we can suggest as possible options.
Kia kaha, Kia māia, Kia manawanui.
Re: Case options
What exactly do you mean when you say that your GPU is "really hot" ? Is it happening after hours of play?

I'm with iRon. I reckon either one will suit you just fine. I personally prefer the look of the 690, but that's just me.
Re: Case options
quick question ... what case do you have the system in now?
Asus Z68-V Pro/Gen3, i5-3570k, 16GB Kingston Hyperx DDR3-1600, Gigabyte Radeon HD6970 OC graphics card, Corsair H100 liquid cpu cooling, Lite-on Blu-ray burner, Western Digital Raptor X HDD, Gigabyte Sumo 5115 modded case, Samsung P2770 monitor
Re: Case options
the HAF is too big IMO, unless you planning on going all out, cpu coolers, gpu coolers, sli/crossfire etc..

Re: Case options
Dunno what the HAF 912 looks like but the HAF 932 is good. Maybe think CM storm scout?

Calm down. My plan was to wait for the op to ask why I said that and then give him the reasonsRon2K wrote:Corrected. I'm getting really sick of opinionated, spoiled brats passing their ungrounded opinion off as fact around this place now.THE_STIG wrote:The Haf of course[citation needed]
but anyway. Cm690 is a very good case however it is slightly more cramped inside than the haf 912, also I find the 912's cable management system to be a bit better. Given that you have some cooling issues I would suggest the 912 as it is bigger inside and you can hide the cables more effectively to increase airflow. But there are some other nice cases going around that price point, I suggest you have a good look at all of them before deciding on the 912
//the cm sniper is R1500, you might want to consider it as well
