Zalman on AM2?

Post by Dust »

Ok guys, my buddy may be taking my cpu off my hands, so we are looking at a Zalman cooler for it. The Gigabyte cooler I have is old and close to retirement and the TT thing he has is ugly and not doing it's job on his current 4400+ X2.

So far I've looked at,
CNPS 8700NT or LED
CNPS 9500A or LED
CNPS 9500AM2
CNPS 9700NT

Now the NT and AM2 coolers are silver coated it seems and they have green LEDs which will look crappy with all his blue CCFLs.
Which will look cool with a green ccfl setup I guess.

The others are copper with either no LED or blue.

Based on your past experience, which would YOU take? Maybe a different model?
Bare in mind he considers mild oc'ing.

We have looked at ThermalRight which we like but woukd like to stick to Zalman.

Regards, Llewellyn.

Buy Thermalright. Best coolers for your money

I have the Ultra XP120 and it keeps my B3 Stepped Xeon @ 3.6ghz under perfect control.

He can then fit blue led fans to it to match the colour scheme.

Man im glad im over all the xmas light ***** in pcs
