Core 2 Duo lga775 availability

Post by Kenjutsu »

Currently I have an E5200 CPU installed. Seeing that the i3, i5 and i7 CPUs are here in force, I want to know how long the Core 2 Duo lga775 CPUs will still be available? I want to get a better CPU before the lga775 platform is laid to rest :)

I believe you will still be able to get LGA 775 CPU's for a long time if you are willing to buy second hand. CPUs in my experience outlasts motherboards by far.

Yes, you won't have problems getting lga 775 processors for a while. Just make sure the guy you buy it from has a reasonable reputation, as some of those CPU's have been running at near max OC for a while.

The. New cpus will be available long after the mobos are being manuctured
Its the mobos that die that causes a problem , I have had situations
Where I had capable cpu's but couldn't get a motherboard
So I just upgraded the whole rig.
