Re: The Official Android Thread, V2.0
I am officially convinced Leaf is full of BS and have decided I'm gonna root my Hero Anyone got any tips / recommendations for a n00b to all this? For instance, I've kept an eye on the thread for awhile, and have noticed there's certain ROMS which you guys seem to prefer over others... Are there an...

Re: The Official Android Thread, V2.0
I'm jealous. It does look pretty... but I HATE setting up everything again...
I rolled back to the latest 5.09 radio, but I can't say I gained much improvement on the battery life compared to the 5.10 :/

Re: 1st South African Fleet / Official ST:O thread
I'll give the demo a try soon. Too bad it is a bit expensive to do the whole thing though. I love Star Trek and this could be great. How well does it play on a 384kbps shaped account (MWeb uncapped)? How is it expensive? Seems about average for an MMO. The monthly payments are slightly cheaper than...

Re: The Official Android Thread, V2.0
Changed back to the 5.09 radio this morning. I was getting terrible battery drain on the 5.10 radios... I have not noticed any out of norm battery usage. My battery last +- a day and half but if I really use for what I need a day, needs to be charged every night except on weekends. I noticed a huge...

Re: The Official Android Thread, V2.0
Well, they released another radio for the desire. To be honest I've yet to notice any difference from the stock radio it came with. I do seem to be having issues with the Market and downloading apps. I regret not using Titanium Backup :/ Cause there are 3 apps that REFUSE to download. I saw they rel...

Re: The Official Android Thread, V2.0
New baseband radio out BTW: 32.46.00.32U_5.10.05.17_2 So far 3G seems smoother and more consistent. I downloaded that and installed as soon as I got to work! However, after booting into recovery and getting it to flash, it asks to reboot (which is fine). It then decides to format the cache. And tha...

Re: The Official Android Thread, V2.0
I'm a bit torn. Defrost is nice, but everytime my phone reboots, I have to sign into Facebook and Twitter. OpenDesire pumps out the updates. Both I have trouble with MMS. I'm thinking of going back to OpenDesire.

Re: The Official Android Thread, V2.0
Oh, I looked under "Dialer" and "Dialer Storage", and both never let me change defaults. I couldn't find anything related to an app called phone. I did however read the about section if Dialer One: "There is no way to override default dialer button on Froyo".
I am sad.

The stock central locking locked all doors, including the boot (when locking the driver door).

Re: Central Locking not working
About a year ago..... Warranty? Warranty or not, take it back where you got the autowatch thingie installed. They'll sort it for you. Otherwise any auto-electric should do. Probably just a fuse. It should be under warranty. I fear that the place I got it installed has moved, so I'll have to look at...

Central Locking not working
Hello! So about a year ago I got one of the autowatch alarm systems put in my car (which tied into my central locking). What is supposed to happen is when the car is armed, the doors lock. And when switching the car on, the doors lock. The doors aren't locking :( Any suggestions on what I can do? Ta!

Re: The Official Android Thread, V2.0
Battery life with OpenDesire (3.1.1 though) isn't good at all. I left it charging over night. Took it off the hook at 5:50 this morning. Used a tiny bit of wifi, few minutes. Received about 40 or so SMSes. Took one call. Spent about 10 minutes with 3G active. And another 5 with wifi when I got home....

Re: The Official Android Thread, V2.0
Some more bugs with opendesire.
Long startup. Sometimes it hangs on the white HTC screen. Doesn't boot
Found that out when I rebooted cause gprs wouldn't kick in.
However I was able to sync my works mail. Disappointed that I can't tell it to download headers only, ands specify folders.

Re: The Official Android Thread, V2.0
The only thing I dislike about Swiftkey and just about any add on keyboard is that there is no button to hide the damn thing when I want to. The stock k/b that comes with 2.2 & Sense is awesome because I can hide the k/b. Push the back button! IE the hardware button. Keyboard gone. It was Xipha...

Re: The Official Android Thread, V2.0
Swiftkey slow?! Man, I type the fastest with Swiftkey, love it... So far the best battery drain I've gotten from any ROM I've tested (which is basically all) is OpenDesire and DeFroST. You should try OD 3.2.0 Mr_Norris. Are you running on the latest baseband radio? Swiftkey started lagging behind m...

Re: The Official Android Thread, V2.0
Not too sure about OpenDesire. I'm sure the Rom suggested to me initially was about the best. It had sense though. Battery drain seems to be worse with OpenDesire. On top of that, the day after I flashed to 3.1.1, 3.1.2 came out :/ Don't like Android's stock Keyboard. The best so far is HTC_IME mod ...
