Re: Digital Camera, Help Choose
Hey Cupis, That Panasonic DMC-FZ40K is incredibly sharp across it's whole zoom range. They use Zeiss lenses on their cameras so optically they are excellent. Functionality-wise all those cameras are pretty much standard across the board. I've only used the Panasonic and the Fuji FinePix S4000 and of...

Re: Polo Vivo 1.4 versus Nissan NP200
My old mans company made the change to Nissan Np200 when their delivery mine vehicles needs replacing. I must say I have been really impressed with the little bakkie. There is no better way to test reliability and build than by giving your vehicle to a mine delivery driver. The 10 they bought are al...

Re: Latest Purchases Thread
Thinking of something faster f2.8 or even 1.8 for wide angle shots. If I only had more money. Photography is even more expensive than PC gear. Nice camera :) Btw a large aperture (eg. f1.4. or f1.8 ) has nothing to do with how wide your angle of shot is. The large aperture lenses are mainly used fo...

Re: The choice ?? Which bike to get ??
To come back to the original question: WiK has pretty much covered everything in his first post. You say you are thinking about track days and fun rather than having it as a commuting bike. The 2-stroke wins hands down. That 4-stroke on a track will be a yawn. It really will just not have enough gru...

Re: Latest Purchases Thread
I've done SO many hours of research on that Camera, and as I sit here, not even a photographer, I can tell you that I'm SO jealous of you. That D7000 is a great great camera. What lenses have you got? Dae - I've got the 35mm f/1.8 and a 70-300mm VR Would like to add the wide angle 10-24mm and a SB-...

Great customer support.
However I cannot give the same respect to the SA Apple stores I've been to.
Lethargic service is the only way I can descibe them..

WiK - awesome suit dude. Where did you get it from and how much did it set you back?
Looks sweet combined with your Triumph..
DarkStar - glad they sourced the problem. Hope it doesn't give you any more grief when you get it back.

Re: Game of the Decade
WoW gets my nod. I can't stop playing it which to me means they've done something right. Yes, the graphics are not as good as most other modern games, yes it can be insanely repetitive, but it has held my attention (pretty much unabated) since I installed it some 4 years ago. I really enjoyed Morrow...

Re: Good i5 plus board
I would go for the i5 760 from that list. I think it was in September that Toms Hardware recommended the i5 750 (they didn't have the i760 to test with but said either the 750 or 760 would do) and the Asus P7P55D-E LX as the best chip/mobo combo as part of their best Enthusiast PC build. Add a good ...

Re: Axxess uncapped adsl
Their ADSL lite or whatever they call it, for R19/gig is perfect for everything unless you really wack your adsl line then maybe think about the R99 uncapped.
I'm on the R19/gig and it is great for gaming (wow) and streaming and surfing..

Re: Wow players on this forum.
I use battleping http://www.battleping.com/ but it's not free. Costs about R105 depending on exchange rate at the time you pay - gives you 90 days.. It approximately halves my latency. I average about 400-600ms without it and about 210-250 with it running. I can't play without it now, especially if ...

Re: Wow players on this forum.
Queue times are hideous on my server as well. I have yet to get into a random 5-man using dungeon finder - always gives me a 30-40min wait time and then something happens and I'm forced to quit the game before I reach the front of the queue

I'm using Eset Nod32 or rather their Internet Security suite at home. I like it a lot. At work I'm using MSE and I have to say it has kept my laptop free from a lot of evil. Our work network is brimming with nasties. I think I would be using MSE at home as well if I had not received Esets flagship f...

Re: Wow players on this forum.
That is really scary because I was planning on doing a format windows and a clean install of WoW thinking that with Cata it would be almost totally patched but now you're saying it is asking for a 9gig download
How did the re-install go? Any joy? Or do you still need 9gigs worth?

I started playing just over 4 years ago.
36 months x R130 (average price per month..?) = R4680

Although in SB's case it isn't a slow HDD since he has a solid state drive.GDI_Lord wrote:The reason that a small RAM drive might work nicely is that data isn't being moved to and from a very slow HDD, it's being "moved" to another location in memory.

Plus, your Dreamtime is hand-painted in Italy if I'm not mistaken. So they told me when I bought it. I got number 407 of the 2500 made. My girlfriends Dreamtime is number 48 - oooo so close to the magic number 46 ;) I didn't even know the K3 came with the Dreamtime design - looks amazing I must say.
