i´m also a proud capetonian but my opinion is very different concerning dockside. i haven´t heard much about the re-opening but the original i found particularly unimpressive. the main factor that put me off the original was the repetitive ´drink a beer´, ´get in a fight´, jock kind of mentality that put a major dampening on the atmosphere. 2 other things that p*ssed me off were the really heavy searches at the door and the cold water being turned off after 12:00 (this can be disastrous on a heavy night).
 
 my opinion on the best night-spots in Cape Town r GALLERY for a big party (the original 47 being the best partying club in the history of mankind) and Gandalfs/´Cool runnings´ for a chilled night out (and don´t forget about long weekend VOTEX´S: easter weekend´s rocked).
 
 oh, and bondi; where do u by your hardware in Cape Town (i sometimes use java cafe in Claremont)?

Turning off the water after 12 is illegal. All clubs/venues are, by law, required to have a ready supply of cold water (so no, the hot taps don´t cut it) readily available to all customers. So that was dodgy as fuÂ¢k.
