AnimeNewsNetwork.com wrote: Street Fighter IV Fighting Game to Get Anime Feature

The game developer CAPCOM has announced an anime feature based on its Street Fighter IV fighting game at Tokyo Game Show. Studio 4°C (Memories, Tekkonkinkreet, Genius Party) is producing the feature.
The earlier Street Fighter II game was adapted into an international live-action film project and a Japanese animated television series (Street Fighter II V). Street Fighter Alpha was turned into a film and a video series (Street Fighter Alpha: Generations). Several Street Fighter manga have also been produced.
I wonder how this will turn out.

Ooo, yummy, chun li.

One anime that brought something that I've never seen before, in an anime, was Baccano!
It took small bits of seemingly stand alone stories and pieced them together in what appeared to be a haphazard order. Well, then again, anime is known not to show stories in chronological format.
Nevertheless, the first 6 or so episodes frustrated me as nothing profound was revealed. It portrayed likeable and unique characters and slyly hinted of good things to come, but, after the 6 or so episodes I had split thoughts on the anime.
Are they dragging things due to lack of productivity, thus prompting me to drop it, or, was something grand really on it way? Curiosity got the better of me and throngs of excitement ensued when the latter turned out to be true.

Another classy point was that there was no main character, yet almost each and every character had something alluring about them, something that portrayed them as a main character in their own right and while I'd really have to scrounge hard to find cardboard cutouts, their presence is inevitably there, they play a purpose, namely, to bolster the characters intended for the limelight.

In simple terms, this anime had fresh characters with none, yet all, taking the main lead. It told individually enjoyable stories that formed one greater whole. And finally it whisked everything together into a near perfect show. This, reinforced with one of my favorite styles of animation and a suitable soundtrack made me sad as do most good anime that never find that 'just right' ending. But, this anime affords even more grievance as it cannot have an end, as is mentioned in the last episode. Simply more characters may be inconspicuously slithered in and the story could go on forever. Though, the producers might have developed this anime religiously following the maxim, short and sweet, if anything further is desired, the solution is supplied as: Imagine!
Corny, but, oh well...

Appealing characters
Ennis
Miria and Isaac
Vino
Chane
...heck, as I'm thinking about it almost every character comes to mind. Spectacular job Brains Base...

Ah finally! Dreary exams are nearing an end.

I was watching Spice and Wolf when I put an hiatus on all leisure activities, and, it's not exactly the anime you'd want to watch when writing Advanced Tax Law.

So, I'm looking forward to unwinding on some easy going anime. Could you guys suggest anything? Clannad? Seirei no Moribito?

Wow! I've yet to find something interesting enough that may command my attention for so long. Oh wait, I do... porn, j/k.

Horo, I don't find much of a character in her as she's not too hard to read. What I do find mildly intriguing is the relationships she's spinning with that guy (forgot he's name) as he has shown to have wit enough to oust Horo on occasion. Perhaps the series will pickup, like Baccano before it ends. I've got around 6 episodes of S&W left. Will finish it before I start something else.

I dont recall it really picking up...
Also her name is Holo, Ayako made a mistake and even though it sounds like Horo, its Holo ;) :P

I dont know what I found soo intriguing either. Something about it just made me keep on watching it and I enjoyed watching it.

Lorance is the name of the merchant she is with. The trading was relatively entertaining as well. I really hope they make a 2nd season of Spice and Wolf!

I read somewhere that a second season is due. Now that I think about it, it sounds like the ending will leave you wanting more. Hmm...

Yes there will be a second season. It's a slow watch start to finish really but depending on the viewer of course that's not a bad thing.

Fans Bid 22,500+ Yen for Kannagi's Nagi Fan Club Cards

Not-So-Daily Link of the Day: Potential buyers have bidded 22,500 to 25,500 yen (about US$230 to US$265) in auctions for Official Nagi-sama Fan Club Member's Cards from the Kannagi anime series on the Yahoo! Japan website. In the anime and Eri Takenashi's original manga, Nagi-sama is a goddess who come to life before an art student when he carves a statue from a Kannagi tree. The club has deliberately limited the number of available memberships; in the third membership campaign recently, the club issued only 1,000 cards to randomly selected applicants.

A third ongoing auction offers another fan cub membership card and a poster that was only available to members at a "Kannagi Matsuri" event on Sunday. The bids for the auction have reached 16,000 yen (US$170) nine hours before it ends on Tuesday.

ANN

And in other news not completely unrelated some of these same fools are tearing up and burning their manga because it recently disclosed their virtual girfriend Nagi had an ex-boyfriend, implying she's not a virgin...
"Second-hand" Nagi Provokes Otaku Storm

The revelation that flat goddess Nagi-sama, of Kannagi, had a boyfriend and thus may not in fact be a virgin has provoked a storm of outrage on 2ch, with obsessive fans vowing to throw out their manga, cancel their dakimakura orders, etc. Otaku viciously proclaim they have no need of a “second-hand” wife.

Others hold this to be the era of Zange-chan, available for a mere ¥100 a go…

The problem stems from a few lines in the latest chapter:

There’s no need to go into spoiling detail on the rest (not that there really is any).

Their histrionics are seen as all the more ridiculous considering no actual allusion to sex has even been made, just the introduction of an “ex-boyfriend character”.

It is also noted that those complaining are the main audience for all manner of interesting doujin works…

About the only worthwhile point raised is that the timing of such a revelation (if indeed it is such, and not merely the obsessive ravings of a thousand NEET virgin hunters) seems odd, given that it arrives just in time to coincide with the DVD release and therefore have a deleterious effect on sales, assuming such otaku are numerous enough to have an impact. Possibly there is some mistake?

Another interesting point raised is that for a thousand-year-old goddess to be a virgin might just be the more objectionable, though perhaps not to otaku.

You can read the relevant portions of the thread here.

Perhaps these wretches would like to file for a virtual divorce?

Rofl, noobs.

On a serious note though this is an awesome show. Get it if your not watching it yet.

More on the matter. I suppose seeing the posts would be good for a lol but I can't read Japanese so linking to it is pointless.

Btw, an "otaku" is not something anyone of us would want to be mate.

This reminds me of another running show, Chaos;HEAd, in which the main sob is so far ****ed he cannot tell what's real and what's not. Also a good show actually.

Ah well will see what happens when the next volume hits.

lol.

Indeed, if what is happening regarding Kannagi is otaku behaviour, then their is no way that I am an otaku and I do not want to be one at all!! EVER!!!

Im getting Chaos;Head, not sure what to expect from it... Lots of blood and gore sounds good if its anything like Elfen Lied, but I dont think so...
I skipped through episode 1 and 2 as apparently there were LOADS of where they needed to adjust sign's and so on.
From what I saw it looks like it could be a love/romance series with some action in it...
Its school life from what I can gather... But as I said iv only skipped through it and quickly too so I dont really spoil it for myself.

Apparently in Japan, real otaku are supposably really dodge, the kind of people you don't want to be near or speak too. - stay away man, stay away, they take pictures of trains for a living.

Chaos Head seems quite cool, it's shounen I believe?

As the title implies, psychological themes relating to one's psyche and mind plays a large role in Chaos;Head. Delusions and the method of projecting one's own delusions onto the physical world, or onto someone else's visual system, is a key driver behind the story.
Takumi is the main character of the series. He is a very reclusive person and only attends school a bare number of times per week in order to fulfill graduation requirements. He often notes that he is not interested in girls in the three-dimensional world and avoids conversations with others whenever possible. He prefers to engage in watching anime, playing eroge, and massively multiplayer online role-playing games.
Action, Angst, Comedy, Daily Life, Detective, Horror, School Life, SciFi, Seinen, Super Power, Tragedy, Violence
Because the main character is paranoid viewers are easily pulled into his delusions, making it hard to tell what's real and what is not.

Average show, but very interesting concept.

The Chaos;Head game translation is also almost done. http://www.tsukuru.info/tlwiki/index.ph ... aos%3BHead
The anime still has potential, will see what they make of it.

Currently my weekly most anticipated shows are Gundam 00 and Ef - a tale of melodies.

Hmmm, I'll get to EF soon, lined up the first season this morning. Watched Air yesterday so I'll lay off the girly tears for a while. Also loving Gundam 00 but personally I think the first season was better thus far. I felt Marie's reunion episode was a bit weak too. Though, still a good show. My weekly picks look something like this :

Casshern Sins
Nodame Cantabile Paris-Hen
Michiko to Hatshin
Gundam 00 S2
To Aru Majutsu no Index
Kannagi (don't ask, I just love this stupid show)
Soul Eater
Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae
Clannad After Story

The rest like Ga-Rei and Kurozuka (this is actually very good lately) I catch up on when I'm bored. I've got 42 shows in my "Ongoing" folder though, running and replacements. Will work on that when I'm off in 2 weeks.

And coming back to posts above, Kannagi fans are selling all their pre-orders for half the purchase prices.
