Don't worry about the ending. The rest of the show far outshadows the ending. And the anme doesn't even have the proper ending. The story is continued in the manga.
Yeah most animes seem to suffer from the bad ending thing, although most endings are bad only because it is the end :P

I have wondered that one myself...

would really like to see what actually happens when they find all Sakura's feathers...

haven't seen anything mentioned about a 3rd one, though as with other series, they may only decide to make one at a later stage and thus, no news yet...

School Rumble is also getting a third season.

Here's hoping Harima catches a wake-up in the new one. Though I doubt it, still undecided in the manga.

Russian Protestant Leaders Call for Ban on Ikki Tousen

A group of leaders from Protestant churches in Russia has asked the country's attorney general to ban television broadcasts of the anime series Ikki Tousen and to cancel the channel's broadcast license. The Consulting Council of Heads of Russia's Protestant Churches also included the American animated television series South Park and Sealab 2021, as well as up to ten other series, in the complaint. Ikki Tousen was noted specifically for "glorifying cruelty and containing elements of child pornography." Ikki Tousen airs on Russia's 2x2 channel under the title Shkol'nye Voyny (School Wars). The other programs were similarly criticized for promoting homosexuality and drug and alcohol use, and contributing to the destruction of public norms and values.

Representatives of 2x2 responded by saying that since Russia is a secular country, any attempt to regulate television broadcasting should be initiated by the government, not a religious organization. "It would be the same as if atheists were demanding to shut down channels that broadcast religious programming," stated Yuliya Solovieva, director of 2x2 owner Prof-Media.

2x2's general director Roman Sarkisov argued that it is a channel aimed at an adult audience, that all of the programs noted in the complaint are broadcast after 10:00 p.m. when "children should be sleeping," and that all of them have aired on Russian television for a number of years with no complaints and in accordance to all current broadcasting rules and regulations. However, earlier this month, after receiving a government warning, 2x2 stopped airing two other cartoons, Mondo Mini Shows' Happy Tree Friends and Aardman Animation's The Adventures of Big Jeff.

Estimates put the number of Protestants at up to 3.4% of Russia's population, or about 5 million people.
I don't recall any youngsters in Ikkitousen. Were there? Unless it's Dragon Destiny, in which case, erm... well... yeah...

I remember reading a story 2 years ago about a mother who took her ten year old son to buy his monthly supply manga and comic books at the local bookstore. The mother was busy browsing when her son returned to her, holding a certain manga in his hand. He opened it, pointed to a certain panel and asked her “Mommy why is the lady putting the man’s thingy in her mouth?” Sufficed to say the mother was outraged, demanding the manger explain how such explicit material was easily excisable to her impressible son. The manager promised it would never happen again and that all their purchases would be free of charge. Btw this happened in America.
The manga in question was Battle Vixens better known to us as Ikki Tousen

Though Ikkitousen's manga is more explicit than it's anime, there are no sex scenes.

That must have been a doujin, in which case I'm not so sure those are sold in local book stores, even in this day and age, either.

I heard some more about Ikki being banned but I don't recall facts atm. I believe the decision to do so must have involved the 6x uncut OVA's. If it's the series itself then well, might as well ban anime in general.

Thoes would be the Hot Spring Specials?

I didnt see anything extreme in thoes...im sure it would even be suitable for 16+ and definatly for 18+

I think Ikkitousen rocks and that there is nothing at all wrong with the anime series. I havent read the manga so cant comment there.

Like Rayne said, if the people are thinking of banning the normal Ikkitousen series then they might as well ban anime.
Its an ecchi series and stuff like that is expected.

ok I just got a very bad shocker to the heart...

it looks as if that cheap Chrno I got, was in fact a bootleg

these guys are getting so damn good lately that WTH knows what to expect...

I still don't think it is cause how did they make the box covering so perfect?

not sure how I will know for sure, since I am no "disc reading for bootlegging" expert so if you guys can mention a few things I could look for...

Steven Spielberg likes Ghost in the Shell. Live-action adaptation soon.

It will be directed by the three fools who did Ghost Rider though so don't get your hopes up.
