Hi Guy's

I am running a 2.8 INTEL prescott with 512 DDR400 160Gb HDD on Gigabyte GT 2004 8IPE...

I have just built the machine and added MSI FX5200 128MB with remote

""Spent to much on the machine to buy anything else...""

On 3D mark 03 I am only scoring about 1853

I have a mate who is running a BARTON 2.5ghz 333 256mb 400 ..80HDD on Chaintek Motherboard.

BUT.......

FX 5200 Soltek..128mb Al Cheapo

He is scoring a 2312...How this is possible I have NO IDEA

Are my drivers(Detonator 56.64)the problem?

Any Suggestions?

Regards

he is probably tweaking his drivers and bios better than you are since a 2500+ and a 2.8P4 should get roughly the same scores with similiar cards - and that test depends more on the card than the cpu so the actually stronger cpu at those levels will only make a difference of less than 30 points or so (at your current graphics card standards)

but it is you who should be slightly higher so you need to tweak your system properly - he could also be using some older drivers which dont render the tests properly and is what caused all the problems about nvidia's socalled "cheating"

Hey Guys,

Please don't laugh, I MEAN IT! I just got 65marks. Is this normal for a P3 1Ghz, 256mb RAM, GF4mx440 64mb? I ran a bench with the 3dmark03's default settings. Is it ok if I run a bench at lowest setting and post those scores. In other words what setting should 3dmark03 ben on in the lines of the res.

thanks

hahaha yes it is perfectly normal...
I got a whopping 18 marks with my GeForce MX440 at work!

Them MX440's just can't run 3DMark'03... Simple fact of life...
Not supporting the correct version of DirectX.

Nice score there dammod!

Damn, I wish I had a 6800 Ultra. The best I can get in 3DMark '03 is a measly 8837 @ stock speeds, and about 9500-9700 when overclocking the GPU somewhat. If I overclock my CPU too, then I can get about 9900... still not even within 3000 points of your score!

8837 isn't a measly score at all. In fact, its bloody good!

Yeah, I guess you're right...

Maybe I shouldn't be dissing my system then. It does the job pretty well, so I can't really complain. :-)

The highest scoring card in this benchmark a proto dual-GPU Gigabyte 6600GT.

300 is pretty good (#2) considering the highest score in the world is 330

I really wanna break 13000 but I don't want to OC. What should I do to get it that extra few points. At the moment I am sitting on 12968.

will lowering my RAM's CAS Latency Time to 2 help with my score? Will my RAM support it?

Posted: 21 Dec 2004, 11:21
by halo
it might make you pc a bt=it unstable but its worth a try.... why are you even worried your like 32 point away thats almost the same as 13 000.....

Posted: 21 Dec 2004, 11:22
by po10cy
you can lower the latency times yes, but not too far or else youll have to clear your cmos, also try and do as much tweaking as you can in the bios, disable memory shadowing etc., maybe also install riva tuner and turn down all the settings etc. that should make you hit 13000, good luck :)

Thanx po10cy...will go try now.

To halo: Its close...but still not 13000.
