LED Activation on Mouse click

Hey guys
Hope all is well.
I am not too sure if this is the right place to post this question but here goes...
Does anyone have an idea how to get LED's to flash on say left mouse click? I want to do a mod with these new super bright LEDS for FPS games. Strategically place these LED's around my gaming desk...when you press the button to shoot these LED's should flash on the click. I think this might add some nice immersive effects.
Any ideas?
