Unicode Characters

Does the forum accept Unicode characters? I just tried posting an emoticon (I know, i know! They're used by icky hipsters and teenage girls! It's just that I'm on my phone and don't recall the correct string for the: thumbsup: smiley.)

I'm guessing that it doesn't support full Unicode because I got this error message:
General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Incorrect string value: '\xF0\x9F\x91\x8D' for column 'post_text' at row 1 [1366]

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.
Please notify the board administrator or webmaster: nobody@g3ar.co.za
Unless, of course, emoticons aren't in Unicode.

Thanks
GDI Lord

It is not broken.

There are currently 8 standardized versions of unicode, this forum wont support characters from the later versions because its old and wont have the newer collations

That doesnt mean it doesn't support unicode.
