Thirteenth cheque: 2013 edition
Howdy!
Yesterday, my department was called into a meeting in which we were told that we would each be receiving a full [on two occasions it was reduced to 80 and 75% respectively]13th cheque this year, and that the money should be deposited into our accounts on Saturday.
Is your employer giving you something extra for December, and what are you planning to do with it?
I had to borrow money from my investments this year to make ends meet, and shall thus be replacing what I took out.
This isn't normal for me, but I think that it is the <cough> responsible thing to do.

Our bonuses aren't 13th cheques- more like performance oriented bonuses, but yes, I've already received mine (November paycheck- which helps a lot for the mid-December holidays and gift buying expenses). Although I'm not quite sure what I want to spend mine on.

RRF gets his throughout the year, they take the 13th check and divide it into 4 so you get a portion of it every 3 months which helps with the unexpected expenses through the year...

Re: Thirteenth cheque: 2013 edition
My Boss is kinda mean. She doesn't pay well most of the year - there is no way there would be a 13th payment. Still waiting for the third. Besides - she is superstitious. She sees it as unlucky for her. Actually - paying any money seems to be against her religion.
Really glad for you though Birdie
