Landmark Computers Ultracool My CPU

To enable higher clocks with a cooler CPU, Landmark has teamed up with the overclocking mystro Goddy Roodt to remove the standard Intel goo that sits between the LID and the chip itself and replaces this with Cool Laboratory Liquid Metal Pro. This drops temps by around 25 degreed (4670K @ 4.5GHz 1.4v with Corsair H60).

CPU's that can be Ultracooled:
  • Sandybridge (i5 and i7)
  • Ivybridge (i5 and i7)
  • Haswell (i5 and i7)
Aaaaaaaand... discuss.

Liquid Metal is the beautiful purple flower on my bright orange blazer, eeyah eeyah oh.

So this a service that they offer? What happens if something goes wrong and your CPU dies?

I just popped them a mail asking if they'll come here and comment on this. If guarantee/warranties are kept (or even extended!!!) I will definitely consider buying my CPU from them when I upgrade! (unless I buy an APU.)

(Hey Landmark people, would you consider doing the same for AMD processors?)

Edit:
Oh, and +1 about Cool Laboratory's Liquid Metal!!!

(Hey again Landmark people, do you use the Liquid Metal Pads or the Liquid Metal, well, Liquid?)

Hi guys

Thanks for the interest in this.

If a CPU had to fry etc we offer the full warranty as prescribed by Intel (3 years).
As Goddy does such a good job at resealing the CPU it is impossible to tell it has been modified.
In the 6 years we've been running only 3 Intel CPU's have come back to us with problems of around 2500 sold over this time so likeliness of this happening is low (unless a Customer pumps way too much voltage into it of course).

At the moment we're only focusing on Intel as, TBH, AMD sales are really low in comparison to Intel.
There are a few CPU's going off next week to Goddy and I'll ask him about AMD while I'm there.

We use the paste.

Regards,
Andy
