Hi. I am planning on building a PC for gaming purposes and I am focusing on being able to play the latest current games and future games. My budget limit is R 7 500 excluding monitor. My parts selection are as follows:
CPU, 6GB of RAM, Graphics Card, Motherboard, 700GB - 1 TB Hard Drive, DVD Drive, cooler. My budget for monitor would be R 2000 at least 20 inch or higher. Any suggestions would help, thanks.

sorry but your asking for a miracle. A decent gaming system costs R12.5k and that excludes the R1.5k for a windows OS and R2k+ for a monitor. But let's see what we can do. I'm going to use www.wootware.co.za as they are a good cape town online retailer. If your in jhb/pta you can try finding the same at www.rebeltech.co.za

CPU: i5 4440 - R2300 - http://www.wootware.co.za/intel-i5-4440 ... p-cpu.html
Mobo: MSI Z87 G41 - R1600 - http://www.wootware.co.za/msi-z87-g41-p ... board.html
Ram: G.skill 8gb 1866mhz - R1100 - http://www.wootware.co.za/g-skill-f3-18 ... emory.html
HDD: 1TB Seagate - R800 - http://www.wootware.co.za/seagate-barra ... e-oem.html
DVD: anything R200
PSU: Corsair VS550 - R640 - http://www.wootware.co.za/corsair-cp-90 ... upply.html
Case: Raidmax Superviper - R500 - http://www.wootware.co.za/raidmax-super ... assis.html
GPU: AMD Radeon 7870 - R2400 - http://www.wootware.co.za/powercolor-ax ... -tier.html

Total comes to 9540 and I would have liked to push around R600-1000 for a better gpu. this is however the lowest your gonna get for something decent. Afterwards your going to look at a PSU boost. This isn't future proofing, this is just getting current games to run good.

You can drop the i5 for a pentium go or i3 but then you need to go for the socket 1155 board to which might end up a bit cheaper but you will have performance issues.

Halve the RAM, there's the R600. It's one stick so there will be empty slots on the motherboard for more RAM later. If you look in the RAM post in my sig, you'll see that I'm the "more RAM is better than fast RAM" and "buy the most RAM you can at the time" kind of guy. However, this is one of the times where I think going for less is appropriate. Bearing in mind, however, the 4GB is perfectly OK for an entry level gaming rig.

Oh, and also, Gaming PC for the price of a PS4 = +- R6300.

I was thinking of that thread but you won't have a quad core and its becoming more important as time goes by. The best way to game will be to have a PS4.

I agree. However, this is an entry level build. the graphics card should make up for it quite a bit for a while.

Hehe, well he was asking for a system that can do current and future games. My recommendation should be good for atleast 2 years.
