Buying a Digital Video Camera

Post by Molean »

Shalom Boils and Ghouls...

I am currently looking for a Digital Video Camera to begin my film projects.

I have found this model here:
http://panasonic.net/avc/camcorder/hd/x920/

Which has every feature I am looking for, from mic/headphone input, an accessory shoe so I can attach extra lighting/microphone, great video performance, not to mention wi-fi so I can view what I am filming remotely from a Tablet or my phone and control the camera if need be, viewfinder and a host of filming features.

I can pick this up for R8500.

This is the first digital video camera I will be purchasing as I have filmed a bit over the years using the camera facility on point and shoots and my phone of course. But I have bigger ideas now and the only way to occomplish that is by using a proper video camera.

Do any other members who have filming experience or have any guidelines towards buying a camera of this sorts? Or have any opinions they might want to add?

Thanks muchly!
