What can be said about Resident Evil at this point? It is a franchise that lost itself. However RER is a modern update that returns to its roots.

The game is a 3rd person over the shoulder survival horror game... or just survival horror if you want the short version. It is the port of last years 3DS title and best game for the 3DS from 2012.
What's new? You can strafe and move while aiming, something that RE did not have previously.
What's old? Limited ammo, tight corridors, dark areas with eery music and herbs (no you can't smoke them).

The demo is out on steam, xbl, psn and eshop (wii u). Here are 3 screenies for your delight. The texture work is only detailed on your characters, else the environment looks pretty standard.

Mmmm I like the look and sound of that. Perhaps I shall give it a try. (oh right - need to find some free time first)

the thing to remember with survival horror is to know when to gun and when to run.

Oh something to keep in mind, you have a limited ammo cap. The max ammo you can carry for your pistol is 40 shots. It takes about 5-7 to down one of the standard enemies.

Then something I completely forgot about is the new scanner that let's you scan the environment for hidden items and enemy corpses for extra ammo/herbs.

So have you tried the demo yet? Its about 500mb big on steam.

I'm waiting on my ADSL activation ( new house)

My dsl line is dead since thursdays. So using my iphone as a hotspot. But steam just wants to update every game I have. Finding it very difficult to cope without uncapped.
