I'm trying to find info if there is a restriction on buying and importing a sword from America. Thing is can't find anything saying its disallowed. The only thing that seems to be blocked is firearms.
Has anyone tried importing a sword before? What are our customs rules and regulations regarding that?
Can I import a sword to ZA?

Re: Can I import a sword to ZA?
Interesting question. I tried searching around and found folks saying that there was no problem, but the information was dated 2007 and could well no longer apply.
Suggestion: pop over to "Dad's Toys" in Canal Walk -- they stock some swords, alongside other really cool stuff (I literally start drooling every time I walk past that store), and may well be able to give you the advice you need, if not do the whole process for you.

See I got my eye on one of those Frostmourne replicas from Epicweapons. Coincidently I think I read the same article as you that was also dated 2007 where they talk about the bread knife giving issues but not the 1 meter blades.

Gadget Time (the dodgy Chinese/Japanese place next to BT Games in Canal Walk) stocks those Frostmourne replica swords. Or rather, they had one in stock last time I wandered in there.

Yeah I actually bought from GT in tygervalley and when I got home the handle piece fell off. So I started digging for info on checking authenticity and returned the "fake" replica for a refund. There is a big quality difference. The officials runes runs deeper with the decorative pieces being far more detailed.
