The New Years Resolution Thread 2013
3840 x 2160!!!
...just kidding. I'm thinking that this year I will try going against my nature and buy less games. Don't know if it will work. But I am just not that excited for the games coming out this year. So far its Ni No Kuni, Starcraft 2 HotS, Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite, Persona 4 golden, Persona 4 Arena, The Last of Us.
And not to replace any hardware other than maybe my gpu. That i7 needs to stay.

eat more of this...
poke more fun at:
manufacture at least seven new arch-nemesis... the current stock is a little thin on the ground....
get disowned by no fewer than 2 more family members... if i can to do so whilst too drunk to remember why, i get bonus points for authenticity..
it's shaping up to be a busy year...
also, learn about this new-fangled "caps lock" key i've heard mentioned...
poke more fun at:
- :-theists
:-homoeopaths and those who imagine it works
:-those who insist on referring to themselves as "beliebers"
:-anyone i see wearing boots i am unreliably informed are called ugg... which sounds like slang for their appearance when wearing them...
:-anyone wearing a cap out of kilter in order to adopt an attitude they imagine is something called "cool", or as they say in the real world "mindless dimbulb"
:-ditto anyone wearing the "accidentally my head up a cow's behind now it looks like this"
<..>list trimmed for brevity<..>

How very....human for so many people to make such a fuss about an arbitrary set of coordinates at which the planet we infest begins its next orbit around a fusion reactor...

Lol, nice way to put it. I think that deserves to be stolen for a FB status.

Sounds like you'd rather have the sun burn out and have the planet stop spinning. Remember that if you do stop the planet from spinning every thing that is not attached to the ground will fly off at approx 2000km/h in the once spin direction Also if the sun stops producing heat it would be like ice cubs flying at that speed.
What an earth shattering experience

Why make resolutions? You are just setting yourself up for failure.

On a side note I still handle 1920x1080 perfectly

Re: The New Years Resolution Thread 2013
love new year's resolutionists... gym is flooded with hopeful contenders and my morning jog is no longer solitary...Tribble wrote:You are just setting yourself up for failure.
now to see how many of them stick with it...
what i can't figure out is why they don't follow apple's hilarious marketing gambit and give it a stupidly OTT moniker like "opticular screen" - because if there's another market out there as chock full of tech-jargon victims as apple's, it's the enthusiast home theatre crowd..StarBound wrote: I was setup for failure

2160p will fall in price when it becomes mainstream - yes it is $25k(US) now but remember when 3D was released at around a similar price - and now you can get a 32" 3D TV at R4k(ZAR)StarBound wrote:4k ...$25000... so yeah wait a bit and IMHO you will be able to get 4K res on PC monitors in around a year to a year and a half at prices that mortals can afford
the reason for this is that most people buy the stuff to show off instead of wanting to buy it because it performs well or does what it was supposed to doif there's another market out there as chock full of tech-jargon victims as apple's, it's the enthusiast home theatre crowd..

Seriously - when will they stop making bigger and better?! We cannot keep up. Bought the top graphics card and the day it arrived - they announced the next one.

So far it's going badly, I've not had a single piece of cake this year. I'll have to remedy that!

Better is always better. Bigger on the other hand not always better. Unless ...size matters...

Re: The New Years Resolution Thread 2013
I must admit that working on my Phillips 22IE is much nicer than working on my 15" laptop screen.
