FPB where are pending classifications?
Some of you might be Buying some stuff off steam in their holiday/christmas/winter/southern summer sale and have noticed that there is a game called Mark of the Ninja. Its got a good bit of acclaim. Now the problem. It's not available to us. ...why? It's still needs a rating from the FPB. But the games been out for almost 2 months if not more now and we still don't see it?

So does anyone know the innerworkings of the FPB? This is a game I would have loved to have bought during the sale but now it seems its not going to happen.

Re: FPB where are pending classifications?
FPB works like this:
Distributor brings in game,
Distributor pays FPB to classify the game/movie
A week later FPB issues a certificate for the game/movie.
Where does it say that the game is awaiting classification by the FPB? TO my knowledge Steam just doesn't give a damn about FPB.

Steam is not selling it to us and according to Klei Entertainment they are just waiting for it to be classified. Last night or this morning it was selectable as a community choice but when you select it it returns a not available in region error.

Re: FPB where are pending classifications?
Well it requires that someone submit it to the FPB for classification and pay the R1,500 fee.
That is usually done by the distributor if a local distributor is going to be selling it in SA.

It is download only and $15 so I can see how they might decide its not worth 10 copies especially in the SA market. Speaking of... why don't we have Angry Birds on the SA itunes store?

Not sure since Angry Birds on PC is available in SA in boxed form... however FPB does have a bit to figure out when it comes to multiplatform titles.

No. We are currently waiting for the online system to be finalised but even then it will only be for parties who need to get stuff classified and not for the public.
