Actually I have been doing some shopping more often this year. When I walk into a checkers I feel time warped.

Christmas decorations were up even before Halloween was done and dusted.

We always wait till beginning of December. The cats destroy the decorations so we want them to have as little time with them as possible.

Nice tree

Yes but it is very annoying. Maybe if I start saying merry christmas to everyone working there people might start getting annoying about it aswell :P

As they say, its not that your celebrating it, its that your celebrating it untimely. I would also kinda get mad if people started to wish me happy birthday 3 months ahead of time.

They want to make as much money as possible. Selling in Dec only gives them 24 days of sales. Starting in October gives them at least 11 weeks of potential sales

But you can purchase gifts any day of the year, and who buys decorations in October?

But 3 months in advance is a bit silly

Christmas trees are meant to go up 1 December. My wife tends to decorate a little earlier, but I always tell her if she wants my help I will help her on 1 December. I've escaped Christmas decoration duty for the last few years.

Agreed. And taken off at the start of the new year. Understand, you can't over celebrate what Christmas means but you can abuse how we celebrate it across all cultures. For one I feel that their isn't enough Christmas carrols during the December period anymore but everywhere you look the decor is up.

They are having quite a few Christmas carol evenings in our area. Look in your local papers and at the malls. Many of them aid charities.

I think I found my problem. I stop going to the malls from 1 December. So many people. You can let one rip and there won't be room to scatter.

Christmas flowchart:

You don't matter <=====No===== ARE YOU OLDER THAN 12? =====Yes=====> You are too damn old!

Christmas is for people with kids. If you don't have small kids and still get worked up for xmas, you need to take a long hard look at your life.

Yeah that is the general reaction when I express my opinion on christmas.

It's like grown men and women lose their minds for a month and some change at the end of the year...

I buy my nieces and nephews and small cousins and friends kids presents. I even play along with the kids and humour them with their xmas shenanigans.

But in the company of adults I expect adult behavior. If you ask me insipid questions like what do I think of your tree and there aren't any kids around, prepare to have your christmas spirit exorcised
