Gorged on Games

I've reached this point a good while back and continuously been telling myself and some others this. For my hardware I have one killer PC as per the signature, every console this generation, an ipad, a 3DS, 3DS XL and PSVita. I've got a list of games behind me that would make any man shed a tear.

Sure I can afford it. I proved it by buying them but I have no time to enjoy them. Its not just time thats lacking but these titles makes me feel like I have reached that point where in economics I am getting negative returns on their value. My list of games for the year so far:

Wipeout, Uncharted Golden Abyss, UMvC, BlazBlue CS EE2, Gravity Rush ...thats all my games on the PSVita.

Contra 4, UMK3, that's the list of games on the 3DS.

Tekken TT2, Soul Calibur 5, Final Fantasy 13-2 for my PS3.

Then PC... the steam special gave me alot and felt like a good few was worth it but even some titles as cheap as they were felt like a waste even at a sub $10 mark. Mass Effect 3 with its half finished ending, Kingdoms of Amalur which I just didn't manage to finish, Sleeping Dogs which was purely impulsed and even World of Warcrafts Mists of Pandaria just because I could afford the collectors edition.

Ultimately the 3 games I wanted to get this year was Diablo 3, Guild Wars 2 and Torchlight 2. D3 was enjoyable at first until I needed the auction house. GW2 is still fun and leaves me with that "when I want to play I can play and enjoy" feeling while TL2 has suffered greatly under the release of Diablo 3 because I want TL2 to be more than what it can be.

Towards the end of the year there are still major game releases coming. XCOM enemy unknown and Black Ops 2 has already a place on my shelf. But games like Dead or Alive 5, Assassins Creed 3, Halo 4 are all looking so delicious in their own rights even if I can't stand any of those 3 titles for various reasons.

Let's face it, I need to get out more ...or laid.

Getting laid won't help - trust me.

We have a similar situation in our house - but then there are 5 of us that game. Just saying ..... ;-)

Yes you do have a problem - a serious one. Get to a doctor asap

I've looked at FTL but looks too pixelated to me. I know there are people that says its good... but that only means I will be buying another game I did not plan on.

I'll take advantage of this thread hijack to ask if FTL is better than Gratuitous Space Battles :troll:

Girlfriend isn't going to stop you from buying every game - nor playing them. Just means you will have to share them and have less time to play them.

I'm moving this thread to The Ward, since it seems to be heading in that general direction...

Naah he is already buying most of them - they would have to share. And I hate having to wait until he is done with it!

I forsee each owning their own consoles and TV's...that could be quite a cool setup in the lounge...

i... wha... how do you fit a lounge into a kitchen?

where do you put a TV in a kitchen?

....

added to which... this is all in bad taste... StarBound is technically a 'neuter' following the inevitable atrophy problems developed during all that gaming... so nookie is more of an academic exercise than a possibility...

Disagree puppi - it is very do-able. I speak from experience.

And yes - the lounge did look nice till the kids came along. They kinda make a mess all over the place.

/edit - oh and :slap: for the kitchen quip. Do read my new thread carefully

I could always just overclock the PC if we need to cook something on it. :P

I've played games for the good majority of my almost 30 year old life (stopped counting after 21 but since one of my friends is 1 year older and 30 I just had to do the maths). Challenge? Well at this point its about balance and not everything must be solved with a gun seeing as that is the main types of games these days. Original? RPGs are pre-millenium old and I'm still looting and booting. It has become old.

It seems I have some kind of gap in my life that is hard to fill. And if she's into gaming I would make a kitchen table with a score chart just so she can get that high score in fruit ninja or burger time.
