GIMP 2.8 RC1 arriveth - at last.

Rejoice all ye penguin-huggers!
According to NixiePixel over at Youtube, The source code for The GIMP 2.8 RC1 is now available on
a certain ftp server, ready for compilation with the appropriate tools.
If you are averse to adding potentially dodgy 3rd-party PPAs to you software repository sources list, and don;t want to wait for the official binaries, you will find a compilation guide [works for Precise Pangolin-should supposedly walk for other distributions too] here.
