If StarPhoenix had an alter-ego that was his polar opposite - like Stanley Ipkiss/The Mask

That alter-ego would be D3PART3D

StarPhoenix's brain too busy thinking up punishments and deprivations to realise brother is throwing hissy girl tantrum over spilled moisturiser.

I think I'm starting to see a pattern.

Namely? :scratch:

Nope. starphoenix' brain was completely maxed out on constructing the message, and had no way of knowing that ....er...well....one simply doesn't do such things. I guess that is why she completely ignored me after that. Well....short of asking someone first, how would I know?

It wasn't exactly moisturiser, and it was VERY expensive. .

As I have been trying to explain....he was upset because he felt violated.....and because I "obviously don't care because I don't listen to him..."

@jamin_oz:
So....D3part3d would be the one with the super-power mask?

@doo:

Well....he has an honours degree and passed his CA board exams on his first attempt and is in management and earns well....a similar amount in a month to what I do in a year, so yes-I would see him as rich and successful.

He looks after her, and provides her with money and transport. He will probably get the house when she dies. She 67.

Why would he rent a flat or buy a house if he has a perfectly serviceable room there?

I get that. Sounds more like he caught himself overeating but then decided to save face by making it about the "principle" of the matter. People do it all the time.

I'm saying that if you perhaps stop spending so much brainpower on self-criticism you could devote that energy to thinking clearly and making better decisions.

He means that the two of us have very opposite problems when it comes to self perception. You underestimate your intelligence and I overestimate my own.

Oh.....

Um... derp?

I don't know how to explain this, but I was in the wrong....and not for the first time.

For example: one time he wanted to know if we do performance assessment, whether I had had mine done, how regularly it happened, and if not, why not.....I kinda got the impression that he meant that I should be asking my boss about this, but when I did ask the boss, mentioned that my brother said that I should find out about it....my boss said that things do not work the same way at the company I work at when compared to my brother's company, and that in my case,as an admin assistant assessment and correction is done daily, as we do see each other quite often....and assessment for me is not quite as important as doing that for managers, for example. Well.....when I told me brother this, and said that I had mentioned him, he became angry and told me that I am supposed to know that one does not say things like that. Well....how would I know?

I don't seem to think clearly even when I am NOT ironing my hands. :lol:

The Mask overestimated itself? I got the impression that it turned him into a nigh-unstoppable force.

Sorry to say but based on what you've been describing, I think your brother either has some severe anger issues or he just needs to lighten up in general. :?

I suppose he meant that your boss could have taken it the wrong way. Your boss may have thought you were indirectly asking for a pay raise or more recognition. (which would have been fantastic :P)

We all know you're too modest to ever dream of it, and that's the reason it hadn't crossed your mind. Mirite? ;)

That wasn't really directed at you.

A couple of years ago I went through an emo phase myself. Instead of doing the usual thing and taking to alcohol, I took up Ayn Rand's Objectivism and critiqued everyone's rationality as if I were the only thinking person around. Made quite a fool of myself. Jamin wants to make very sure I've recovered.

Good idea.

I still think it is a strange place to keep a gift - but anyhooo. Perhaps she just wants you to show respect for her things by asking. I know that with my kids they automatically assume that anything mommy buys belongs to them too. They keep putting their grubby finger prints on my GTab and phone. I had to stop that thinking - perhaps that is what you mom is trying to do. Only should could do it in a nicer way and not tag it onto your brother's complaints.

Correct, you have no idea how many nail varnishes and hair elastics I have "lost" due to family "sharing" practices. And bananas - I buy them every second day and I think the last time I got to eat one was 3 months ago!

Solution: Bar fridge in your room, disguised as a cabinet with a lock. You can then keep your Vodka handy in the freezer by your bedside. And bananas for splits or whatever...

Inject a laxative into the banana, make sure you can identify said banana otherwise you will have a problem. :P
