If 'they' go around sabotaging the gantries 'we' will end up paying for the repairs.

True, but it does not mean I have to like them. And no I will not get an e-tag, if they want me to pay I want it to be as inconvenient as possible for them

Actually that would've been waaaaay cheaper to implement as well. But it would have held up traffic.
