Greece and the EU

I'm not entirely up to scratch with the Greece debt crisis. What are they trying to do now? Are they trying to leave the EU resulting in a massive debt to the EU or are they trying to stay in the EU with some kind of leash around their spending and borrowing?

From yahoo news all I can figure is the citizens want out but the lashblack from the EU will destroy what little is left?

The leaders want to stay in the EU in order to get financial assistance, but the cost for receiving assistance is cutting public spending. This does not sit well with the populace as they want to have their cake and eat it at the same time.

Leaving the EU would be disastrous for Greece's economy, and then the people would suffer more than they would with the spending cuts. The just don't realize it.

For poor countries the EU is great
For rich ones it is pointless.

Why did France, UK and Germany, ever agree to this mass socialism in the first place :?:

What's a lashblack? It sounds painful.

France was worse off than SA jammy. UK was still considering joining but they ended up staying out of it. Switzerland is not part of the EU if I am correct. Scotland will have the oppertunity next year to either stay part of the british government or break off into their own. They have spent 44mil or bil pounds on a 4mil or bil pound project so far though that is not yet finished.

lashblack would be lashback where everything turns black :P
