GreyWolf is it any good? Never used any of this stuff before and have taken the free goods but yeah is it any good?

If software was celebrities, these would be B listers (Michael Ironside, Bruce Campbell). Good for a laugh / cameo, but you don't want to cast them in Schindler's list.

pfft.. maybe not maya/max but certainly not to be sneezed at...

for a nooblet looking to knock out simple logo animations or static renders it's a far better option than the time they'd have to sink into something like blender, or the massive financial investment in packages like maya...

your post implied it was more of a toy than a productive tool - which it's not-unimpressive user base and longevity would call a rank misrepresentation... for rapid development it's actually quite good... maybe not as feature rich but why use the rube goldberg approach on every project?

Certainly I would not recommend these tools for anything professional.
