For the folks out there who remembers Space Quest (i.e. everyone except THE_STIG), here's a rather entertaining video on how the game was typically played.



I'll admit that I also played it like this. I was only 7 at the time though, and it took me several months just to figure out how to get off the ship...

Had a friend who played it from a tape drive on a green monochrome screen.

Oh what memories - yes he did die an awful lot - but that is what was so awesome

Before my time in terms of PC ownership.

Perhaps Roger could have done with this

BTW I hated Space Quest 1 with a undying passion. I never did get off that friggin ship...

Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers

Released in 1991; in this installment, Roger embarks on a wacky time-travel adventure through Space Quest games both past and future. A reborn Sludge Vohaul from Space Quest XII chases Roger through time in an attempt to finally kill him. Roger also visits Space Quest X: Latex Babes of Estros (whose title is a parody of Infocom's game Leather Goddesses of Phobos) and Space Quest I; in the latter, the graphics and music revert to the style of the original game and Roger is threatened by a group of monochromatic bikers who consider Roger's 256 colors pretentious (or comment on other graphics modes if played in EGA or Monochrome).
