Don't see a need for this one.

Actually I do. I have missed several pm's because of pop-up blockers. Out of all the spamming Anakha has done, this is the closest thing to useful that I've seen

Also, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to discuss, or if I've even set it up correctly, but subscribing to threads has done absolutely zero for me

it's right there... i mean... right there... all the time... time taken to look at the message count... milliseconds... time taken to deploy and maintain another pop-up mod?.... too much...

just saying...

I'm just saying- this seems to me as the most worthwhile out of all his spa... errr.. I mean suggestions.
If it's not implemented, then no biggie.

As an alternative, the forum supports Jabber as well as e-mail notifications. It was very buggy in the beta/RC stages, and I've never experimented with it since, which is why it's never been set up here.

Would you lot like me to try setting this up again?

An inconvenient truth

I maintain that just because a feature exists and it would make a select few lazy peoples lives an iota easier is not a good enough reason to implement it.
If you are running a popup blocker and are in favour of a feature that will cause pop-up-like alerts, you need to euthanize yourself.

You can always exempt your favorite site from your pop-up blocker. All pop-up blockers I have seen thus far has such an option.
