You do get a lot of car for the money. The GL is R153k, which is pretty good I'd say?

No mention of Audi. Even if Audi were first to use 5-cylinder engines way back when, this one is purely Volvo (Owned by Ford).
Regardless, it's an awesome engine. Amazing power and torque you can feel throughout the rev range.

Yup. A friend up in JHB had a Dream Science mapped one before he got his S3 so I drove it quite often. AWESOME sounding car...

The Yaris has very very poor quality. Loose Plastic trimming, alot of rattles and squeeks, and then those exhausts, which come out of the factory with rust

I don't know - I guess my friend just looks after hers.... then again her husband's Yaris is everything you just mentioned :D along with quite a few dents in the bumper. One thing I can say with absolute certainty is that the Suzuki's interior reminds me a lot of my old Toyota Twin Cam, as does the drive.

Those new Corsa's are quite nice indeed. I had a Corsa C GSI back in the day which was a great little car apart from being really slow.

The SO drives a new Fiesta which is fantastic! Ford has really come quite far in recent years...

So far, from what I can remember, I've had to replace...

* Brake discs, at least 4 times, thats excluding how many times they were skimmed. The current ones probably need skimming. I detect brake shudder on the freeway when I brake.
* Control arms in the front
* Left front hub (that one was a real joy)
* Tyres (this is my third new set now, in the space of a few months. Dunlop have excellent service, but I doubt their tyres!)
* Exhaust
* Steering rack, and it needs to be replaced again
* Windscreen

Always doubt a car that has low milage that belonged to an old lady.

She does look nice when she's clean though :) And those cup holders... one can never have enough of them.

They seem to be very inconsistent. Best friends Terios has given her no troubles, her dad's went through 3 engine over hauls under warranty, eventually they gave him a new car :?

Dude either you drive the car like its a F1 car or that little "old" "lady" killed it. Exact same car as yours and I have just done the 75000 service and I have not had to do anything that you have done! :shock: Word of advice to anyone get away from Dunlops they are not strong tires and they do not know how to last, by far the worst make of tire I have ever used. On mine I gave up trying to find the little knocking noise even my mechanic could not find it and they nearly stripped the whole car looking for the damn thing. Decided to give it up and now I cant hear it, dont know if I should be worried or happy... :/ :?
