So then my question is, why would you want to lucid dream?
You're just going to make the dream even better then what is was and too much will end up have negative effects on your real life. You will become depressed, withdrawn and just want to go back to the dream-world.

It is a challenge - the kinda thing like "can I do it" and if so "how well"

Besides I don't remember most of the dreams = so I wouldn't feel bad often

You're going to have a miserable life regardless. You can also try and find a balance, like only doing it once a week or so. Why do you play video games if you can't do those things in your normal everyday life? It's a bit silly to say "I won't have cake because it will be gone when I eat it"

Video games and cake is in real life. I know it will always be there. It's what makes real life worth living.
Dreaming and thinking it's real is just going to screw my head up every morning when I realize that awesome night wasn't real.

Who says it wasn't real? To me dreams are almost as "real" as real life. If you feel, see, touch and experience as though you were there, what makes it not real? Your mind did it instead of your body and mind. That is the only difference between dreams and reality. The one is only in the mind. But if your imagination is strong and your mind powerful - who is to say that on some level it isn't real?

Fair enough. I won't persuade people to do it. I will however keep trying to achieve these dreams.

This is true in a certain way because I can still remember those really high jumps I did. It was a real experience. Who can say they've experienced jumping higher than a double storey building. In my mind I've experienced it and it makes me happy.

lol, in reality I can't even jump a meter high. I'm sure I'll survive. And you do use the reality checks to confirm that you are dreaming.

Inception, any one....

human touch can only be felt and appreciated in real life.... not the dream world.....
the dream world is not going to get you a job or a girl/boy-friend.......

It's not quite inception. Inception works on a different basis which includes Dream sharing. I also take you didn't read the thread with that comment you made.

Not true - I have had some experiences in dreams that when I woke up I could not believe that it was only a dream. And some involved touching. Those were not lucid however - I had no control.

Not to mention you can actually "make" your own girlfriend and you can have any job you want. It will pay but in a dream money doesnt matter cause you can simply think of the thing you want.

Interesting thread.
I have been having these types of dreams on and off for years now, maybe once a year, since my pre-teens. It is totally random, I cannot tell if there is a specific trigger.

What I do know is that it is very very very real even though it's not.
I am able to control outcomes, but within limits.

The best way to describe it, is to say that there seems to be a pre-written script of chronological events taking place with me as main character, but instead of following the script, the script gets adjusted according to what action I take.
I am only in control of myself, not the script of events, something in my subconscious mind takes control of "running" the script and changing it according to what I do.

Also, if I make a decision or do something that is out of context in relation to the "script", I wake up.
I wish I could explain it better. I also wish I had these dreams more often.

I have not had one for more than a year now.

I have lucid dreams regularly also sometimes after having spent an hour or two in a cinema, on long walks, doing something monotonous
or stuck in a certain position for a time. It seems that I drift into fantasy fairly easily. I can "see" images and video of certain events in my head, sometimes with musical accompanyment, even when I think I am awake.

My dreams do not necessarily take place on earth and in the present, nor am I always human. I have been a shark, a magic-user, some entity present at the big bang and an extraterrestrial lifeform [trippy!] among other things. If nothing else, it has been entertaining.

I need help with a dream. It is not a nightmare as such but it leaves me feeling really disturbed. I have had the same dream almost every night this week. I have it just before waking. When I don't think about the dream I can see it unfold but if I try and concentrate on details or the plot, it moves out of reach and all I can recall is how it makes me feel. I know it has something to do with tribal dolls but I have no idea what culture they belong to.

When I get to sleep late the dream continues and becomes really weird. Now that part I can remember. Clearly but it is just as disturbing. In that part I am very tired and try to wake up but my eyes won't open. When I do wake irl, my eyes flutter but refuse to open and my vision cannot focus.

I dread going to sleep now.anyone experience something similar?
