PC crash

My PC randomly crases & give me a bluescreen of death. It has done so under xp, vista & now under win7. Is there a crash-log somewhere that detail the reason & maybe the fault codes?

Open Event Viewer
Event Viewer is an advanced tool that displays detailed information about significant events on your computer. It can be helpful when troubleshooting problems and errors with Windows and other programs.

Open Event Viewer by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, clicking Administrative Tools, and then double-clicking Event Viewer. Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

If you have had your machine since XP, just buy a new one.
If your PC is still fairly new and worth repairing, I'd look at the RAM first - try get some replacement RAM and see if that doesn't fix things.

Agree with the weird person in the Ausie hat. RAM is often the problem

Or run memtest to verify first.

What does the BSOD error actually say and when does the crashes seem to occur most? While playing games maybe?

Memtest ftw and also worth checking out the graphics card mem test that I posted in the cool downloads thread.

I think you can set your BIOS to not automatically restart after a crash, which will give you time to read the BSOD code and Google it. Might be your HDD failing as well, but RAM smells right.

My friend had a problem just like this and it tuned out that the RAM was faulty, so go find some spare ram somewhere or start removing the modules one by one as it is probably one of the modules that is fluty not necessarily all of them. btw what ram are you using(ddr, ddr2.....)
There is a chance it could be overheating, but this problem seems more like a memory issue to me.
