Hey guys...

so its getting warmer now & i seem to have a problem....

my 5870 usually downclocks to 157Mhz / 300Mhz on idle - but now since im starting the 6 screen setup my card clocks down to 400Mhz & doesnt even downclock the ram anymore...the temps are 63 degrees on idle now from 44... does anyone know how to force 157 / 300 so i can prevent my card from turning in a oven....

thanx in advance...

Firstly have you unlocked the CCC in the first place? If not Try some 3rd party clockers like "Ati Tool" easy to find !
If you have,(i have an XFX HD5670) I noticed if you uninstall CCC, reboot, and update to a new version it is locked once again... =P weird right?

Try that...

hey man - thanx for the reply..

i saw a few forums regarding this problem & found a solution, you have to create a profile, save it, edit it in wordpad & then load it afterwards...it only works sometimes but i guess it's better than nothing lol

thanx for the tip man, ill give ATI tool a try...

All the best...

i had similar problem....an found the same soloution..... reason its doing that is because performance becomes chopy when downclocked at 157/300 over multiple displays... forgot which drivers came with the 'fix' that sets the clocks higher (400/1200) to deal with that issue.... theres a 2d profile 157/300, 2d multiple display profile 400/1200 and your 3d profile at 850/1200... editing the CCC profile is the only fix that i no of... if u could call it a fix....
