very stupid question... but seeing as the friends who i can ask are all asleep.... i'll ask it here...
now that all the Star Wars episodes are out.... how does one who maybe watched the first few episodes a very very long time ago and cannot remember what goes on, and wants to watch them again... in which order does one watch them....
how they were made (i.e. ep 4, 5, 6 then 1, 2, 3....) or in numerical order (i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6...) ?

thanks....

Well, 1 -6 is the chronological order. But some would say 4-6 then 1-3 as that was how they were released. Personal preference, I guess. I'd probably start at 1 if I had all 6 in front of me.

Purists would tell you that the order they were made is the only way to do it. They like to be disappointed in the order in which George Lucas intended.

As Sicko says, I-VI gives you the story chronologically. I watched them all over December beginning with Episode I. Given that I'm not a purist, I found that order just fine. The major down side was that the special effects and fighting, etc. is far better in Episodes I, II and III, so by the time you get to IV, V and VI things look quite forced.

Well I'm no purest however I prefered watching IV - VI first. Somehow Episodes I-III made more sense when seeing them prior. Also don't forget The Clone Wars movie and the series.

You watch IV - VI,

Return I to Mordor and drop in the fires of mount Doom, whence it came.

Blow II out the airlock.

Upload a virus to III using your apple laptop, dropping its shields long enough for the plucky resistance to blow it out of the sky.

Thats how I would do it.

You see I used the scenes from various fantasy / sci-fi movies to draw parallels between Ep I-III and various evil entities and how they should be disposed of.

You see, I hate episodes I-III. I hate them even more than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

^^ Raj you obviously did not watch IV, V and VI then. Compared to the first trilogy EP I-III were rubbish......but they were not completely terrible

Any good sci-fi fan would have seen them all. And great sci-fi fans would have watched the Clone wars too ;-)

A smart sci-fi fan would have watched ep IV to ep VI and clone wars, and ignored the other 3 things.

In my books, that's not quite so smart, because it's based on an assumption- one that we now (with hindsight) know to be true- but at the end of the day it's still an assumption. And we all know what they say about assumptions.

Some of the stuff they have changed is terrible. What they did to the scene in which Darth Vader turns a against the emperor in ep6 was sacrilege, the cheap sounding "Nooooo" just kills the whole atmosphere :x

Oh and Obi Wan's kryat dragon call sounds really cheap :(
