Samsung Jet email profile

Good day
I have been trying to set up a friend's Samsung Jet to receive Windows Live Hotmail.
I have entered her account details as well as the POP3 and SMTP addresses and port numbers,
but when try to download mail, the 'phone returns the following message:
"Define email profile"
Have any of you encountered this problem before and how did you solve it?
