Well, here is a topic I thought I would never start.
I am trying to find a jeweller who can custom make an item for me. I know what I want, and how it should look but I can't find anything online. The closest I can find to what I want is about *cough R80 000 *cough
So I'm looking to take my design to someone who can reproduce the item using cheaper or less concentrated (whatever its called) materials.
If someone knows any good contacts or has experience with something like this, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
PS: The item is not what you might think it is, that's coming later

Here is basicly what I'm looking for, if anybody happens to see something like it, please please please let me know. It obviously has to be feminine looking.
I hope tiger doesn't find this thread. Ron can you make threads invisible to certain users?

Re: Custom Jewellery
I have seen something with the bushman drawings on. You can try most small jewelers as they generally design. We have two here in Centurion that I know of - and their work is superb.
Re: Custom Jewellery
So you want it out of solid gold? 9ct, 10ct, 24ct?
Gold is currently at R350 for an gram of 9ct gold, so if the pendant weighs 10g you are looking at R3500 + R400 for a jeweler to custom make it.
Sterling silver is going to work out a lot less expensive, but the "labour" costs the same, it is around R90 per gram.
If you're really cheap you can have it made out of jewelers brass and then gold plated... The materials will then cost almost nothing but then the pendant is also worth nothing.

I live in the KZN Midlands. I have been recommended to a few people. Mostly people that do this kind of thing as a hobbie, so will see what the quotes look like.
