Greetings All,
My mom's Polo is giving her hassles when ever the weather is wet. As soon as it rains the car will cut out and in some cases refuse to rev past 2000 rpm. Now she has taken it to multiple mechanics to get the problem sorted however they all say they have no idea what could cause such a problem and that they would have to replace parts one by one which is A: A costly exercise and B: Very dangerous to her.
The latest guy that she has taken the car to is a VW&Audi specialist and he has told her that there are 2 parts in Polos that play up when they get wet or it is humid. Now he could just be stringing her along to get some money coming in, so this is where the forum comes into play .
Are there any Polo owners that have had something similar happen or does anybody have any idea what this guy is talking about? We know for a fact that it is not the distributor area nor the spark plugs.
Many Thanks .

IT measures the amount of air flowing into your cylinders and feeds the information to the Engine computer which then adjusts the amount of petrol delivered by your injectors into those cylinders. It is usually a hot wire anemometer or some sort of vane/airfoil.Anakha56 wrote:Where the frig is a airflow meter?
does it only do it after its been driven in wet weather or even if the car has been stationary in wet weather?
