Scrap "free" electricity. Engage a 2nd provider to the country. Focus on the maintenance inside our boarders. Charge for electricity going outside a higher premium.

I dont see why we simply dont just slam them for high treason against the citizans of the republic for providing a deminished resource to outside borders at a lower cost. Or is it that the outside market doesnt give paid product away for free?

The Energy Department has stripped Eskom of the right to assess and plan for the energy needs of the country. The new Intergrated Resource Plan puts the focus on energy saving, rather than new power stations.

A Brilliant decision. Because the government was not responsible for the total lack of planning that first caused this mess and because its not like Eskom isn't part of the government and our power stations aren't all getting on in years and needing replacement. :|
Solar power will be installed in hospitals, prisons and government buildings. New RDP houses will be fitted with solar geysers and with the UN's help, some households may receive free solar water geysers.
Brilliant. lets ignore the fact that 2 sqm of photo-voltaic cells only put out roughly 1kw of electricity at peak sunlight and that this has go into a battery or cap bank and then to a rather expensive inverter. lets also ignore the fact that inverters do not work well with fluorescent lights, or any other inductive load...

I am going to go find a knob-kirey! You should see me on the news tomorrow.

I wonder who is going to fund this. Surely not the people who can't afford to pay for their own electricity.

Starbound, You realise we buy power from Moz? And quite soon we may be buying power from Botswana and Zambia? :?:
