License Disk

Post by WiK1d »

Hey guys.

What's the procedure for renewing the license disk on a car/bike. It's almost time for mine to be renewed, but I've just noticed, that it's actually not on my bike anymore. So I wanna get it done in the week.

Thanks

As far as I know, when it's almost renewal time you'll receive in the post a letter of renewal - all you do is take that to the traffic licencing department, pay your renewal fee, and receive your new disc. Simple as that.

Emphasis on "as far as I know" - I've never owned my own form of transport.

That's correct. You should get a form in the post that you take to the licensing department, but they are notorious for getting addresses wrong. If you don't get it, you'll have to go to the licensing department (whichever is closest to you ... they can be quite sticky about that), tell them you never got your renewal notice, and ask them for a form to fill out. You can fill in the correct address on that form, but I've done it for five years running now and they still haven't managed to get my address right.

Edit: The renewal form in the post tells you how much to pay, so if you don't get it, it's pretty much a thumb suck till you get there.

Well, I don't want to ride around for 2 months without a disk. So I just wanna go and do it Wednesday. I'm sure if I just have the previous registration form (where I cut out the disk) and ID copies I'll fill out a form and pay the fee. I think.

But maxxis helped me out over MSN and said pretty much what you guys did :P

Thanks though

You can go in and get a form - fill it out and pay for it. Takes 30mins if you are lucky.
