Personally I think the front is horrid, but the rest looks decent.

Still, it's no SL 65 AMG Black Edition :)

The fact that it now turns out to be a concept car kinda makes the entire thing BS. Well, at least that's inline with BMW...whole load of BS

I'm sorry, but a claimed top speed of 462, naturally aspirated, when the Veyron, a W16 quad-turbo makes 408? BS.

Also, look hoe boxlike the front is. And the height? klomp cac if you ask me.

It's just as ugly as any other BlikMetWiele. And probably just as over priced.

I think Porche Cayenne drivers will trade their SUV for this. I dislike it. New 7 series isn't a bad looker though.

Less Bangle, more 90's angle. Old school beemers still look better then the new ones.

I don't believe 462km/h for an instant (with those aerodynamics), but remember BMW made a normally aspirated 6l V12 that took the McLaren F1 to +- 380km/h over 10 years ago. You don't need a W16 quad turbo, just good engineering.

Yeah I saw one ages ago. Not really the best BMW ever but certainly not the ugliest.

The new 7 series is quite good though. I like it compared to the old one, not saying much.
S class still wins though. Even over a maybach.

I'm excited for BMW to start making decent turbocharged motors.

The M5 is a monster, but it is the most powerful production car BMW sell, and put against an SL65 AMG Black Edition (Which can be bought directly from MB, not aftermarket) doesn't stand a chance at all.

They need to make a supercar. Audi have the (LOL) R8, Merc have the SL65AMG Black Edition, SLR, Every Pagani, etc...

BMW have the M5 and M6. Ag shame.

Well, if Mercedes have every Pagani... then BMW have the Mclaren F1, which is faster, in a straight line, than anything with the Merc badge on it (or in it).

BMW don't need a super car, it's not like they have a point to prove, everyone know BMW have had superior engine technology for years, as well as suspension and handling. Look at the V8 M3 vs CL63 AMG. 4.0l V8 vs 6.2l V8. The merc is slightly faster in a straight line, the M3 destroys it around the track. We won't even talk about the old CSL (which may be seriously overpriced) - but find an unmodified production car with the same weight and power output that can take it on around a track.

The M5 and M6 have 500bhp - take off the governor and they do over 330km/h. That's supercar territory already - and they are big heavy cars, not meant for speeds like that.

Scavenger, Nope. The Zonda will beat a McLaren F1 with a firey log all day.

The SLR doesn't have the top speed of the McLaren F1, yet it beat it around the Top Gear test track so...

Hex_Rated, Agreed on the handling, the Mercs generally suck quite a bit in that department. That said - and again to use a rather informal, if accurate, measurement - if you have a looky at the Top Gear leaderboard...there is no BMW in sight.

Fact is - Merc choose to go with forced induction, BWM choose NA, Merc is faster.

The CSL was a monster...on the track as well as the pocket. It shone when you used it's launch control - this of course could only be used 10 times before the clutch was dead (I know because someone I know has one).
