My First Bit Of Ink [More Pics Added]

Post by WAJeff »

Howzit going guys,

So I finally decided to get my tattoo done, and took the plundge on Wednesday. Been wanting to get this done for about 3 years, and I finally had the cash to get it
Here some pics I took the morning after (this morning) I'll get Ama to post some action shots a bit later

Image
This was the morning after, straight after I took the grad wrap off. Still looking a little messy

Image
More to the back/elbow of my arm

Image
Bit more cleaned up. Side angel

Image
The back bit, loving the detail around my elbow. Also one of the most painful spots

Image
More to the front of my arm

____________

Now lemme see if I can answer some questions

Does it hurt?
Yes and no. Honestly, the more boney and nervey a spot it, the more likely its gonna hurt. My elbow, inner arm and collar bone was the most painful. Collar bone taking tops though, as well as the bit on my back shoulder blade

Is it expensive?
Yes! Its R500 for a DOT. If you really wanna know how much it cost, ask me and I'll answer

How long did it take?
Almost 4 hours. But there where smoke breaks in between. Longest session was about 2 hours

Do you need to have a high pain threshold?
Who knows, mine is relatively high. I lasted well until the last 40 minutes or so. The higher he got on my arm, the more painfull it got. Upper arm, collar bone and shoulder was the worst and I bled a lot then
The more your pain threshold goes, the more you bleed

What you gotta do afterwards?
Walk around like a subway sandwhich for 4 days, washing it 3 times a day until its all healed
And NO - grad wrap around your entire arm is NOT a fun experience

Where do you get it done?
I got mine done at Metal Machine in CT. Derek was the artist. Apparently he's a bit brutal with tribals... but lets see how you take it

Ama has some "Holy *** ****** ****** **** thats sore" pics which I'll try get up here sometime tomorrow

Comment/suggestions?

I agree - it is really nice. But you have now just put me off ever having one. I do not like pain - at all. My friend has a dragon over her entire back. She is having it done in stages, and she uses Tequila to dull the pain.

depends where you do it.

around the belly button is one of the most painful ones. I'd think the ankle is pretty bloody sore too.

Jeff, only your first bit of ink? How far are you planning on going?

Anyway, it's really cool. If the KP on my arm goes away ( ) then I'm getting one too! :D

How long did it take you to pick a design?

Awesome tattoo. Well done and as long as you NEVER regret it I'm happy for you.
Was it your own design or something you chose out a catalogue? It is really cool and if I ever got a tattoo it would be tribal, but I would like it to be original in that I'm the only person who has it.
