HI peeps as the subject sais. I am looking at the case in the link. It has no side panels weighs a shade over 8Kg. Has lots of airflow. But how will it mod. I think the case is rather stylish and could work gr8 for a decent mod.

erm ... i doubt you'll find many modders on here who would even consider promoting anything with the dreaded tt logo on it (and for good reason too!). samaya, perhaps, but i reckon i can predict djv's answer to this ...

Because thermaltake is the epitome of bull crap.

The case looks really good IMO, but it's thermaltake, and that alone is enough for me to avoid it.

Raud, Tt CPU coolers and PSUs have been a bit dodgy, and now "they" have the notion that ALL Tt products are carp. You should give "they" a :smack: and get the product you want. Read some reviews and if they are favourable, buy it.

I don't see why you say it has no side panels though...

Thanks. I actually wanted to go for the Speedo case. It looks brilliant and from what i have read it is very durable and not too heavy for its size. Only downside is the price tag.

 Meant to say it has no plexi side panels that you can see through.

Nice case... But isn't it already modded?

Price tag (in SA after shipping)? Can I use it as a weapon as well?

I've had Cases, PSUs, coolers, Watercooling systems, CCFLs, LED fans, 5.25" fan controllers, etc, all from TT. I've had a load of TT products, and i can say from first hand experience: Every single TT product i've ever had was absolutely CRAP. If 100% of the products i've ever had from TT were crap, is it bad of me to avoid them? No ;)

TT products are the sort of quality you'd expect from a flea market in a small fishing village in Vietnam.

DAE_JA_VOO, so to put what you just said into perspective I should never buy any AMD products as every AMD product I ever owned ended up back in the hands of the supplier :?:

Augur, DAE_JA_VOO and myself don't fight. We may have different opinions and we debate the validity of those opinions without trying to convince the other to change those opinions.

Lol, no offence intended just lurking

I'm always tempted to Buy Tt but so far I've been unable to find anybody who would recommend them over a competing brand.

Well i have a TT CPU cooler and it ran almost non stop for 3 years.

If TT products were that bad, they'd be out of business?

Read reviews!

Well, if that were the case, yes. If every single AMD chip i had ever bought had packed up on me, and that number exceeded 4 or 5, i wouldn't buy it again.

The difference here, is that AMD has an excellent reputation, and busted chips are not common. TT products are generally known to be absolutely pathetic, and faulty/poor quality products are commonplace with TT.

Yeah :) It's great. We never argue, ever; we debate :)

DAE_JA_VOO, Is there a stylish alternative you could recommend in the place of this one. I want something with a clean smooth look. And please no plastic covers over it like my current Vento7700. The only thing I would have changed about my rig if I had to go back and buy it again, would be the Vento. Would have gotten something totally diffirent. Please note thought that I would like the psu and hdd's to be below the mobo with a devider between the two if possible.

Dude, i can recommend a few cases, but they're all pricey.

Seriously, there are pretty much NO cases that i would recommend other than those from Lian Li or Silverstone. The CM690 is awesome, really really awesome, and there are one or two other cases that are great, but if you really want quality, stick with the two brands i mentioned above.

Just one correction. Price does not really bother me if I am convinced that what I am getting is worth the price tag.

ME??!!! Screw you hippie...

I don't like TT 'cause I had a CPU cooler fail which had dire consequences for my MoBo at the time...

As for the case, its not bad but I don't think it would mod well. The case has all these fancy little plasticky looking bits on it and you will have to remove them for modding (if you go all out that is). Take the top cover with ventilation slots at the back, you cannot change that without almost destroying it. If you basically change anything that has to do with airflow the cases characteristics will change and the airflow you had would probably be messed up. So you would basically only be able to mod the side panels.
