Looks awesome, but I am not sure how that in production will pass safety checks.
For a concept it is just beyond awesome.

It's called the Gina project, and it's old news. And if an Atom can pass production safety checks, this will too :wink: The concept is based on the fact that modern car frames provide sufficient safety and that the 'skin' doesn't have to be metal or carbon fibre.

That is one beautiful car. Companies like TVR use fibre glass and plastic in the bodies of their cars, that's also pretty flimsy.

it doesn't matter if the body is flimsy provided the actual chassis is stiff enough, surely?

True. Compound strips with alternating crumple and stiff zones are what protect you in accidents.
