Something weird happened last night
Last night around ten, I checked my watch and decided it was bed-time. I shut my computer down, packed away my MIDI-controller, got into bed and switched off my bed lamp. Just as I was falling asleep, it felt the sheets started to slowly move off my legs. Thinking nothing of it, I just re-adjusted myself, rolled over, farted and started dozing off again. After about three minutes or so, I felt the bottom of my bed started shaking. I've heard of many different kinds of sleeping disorders causing all sorts of shaking sensations while a person is trying to sleep, so I just rolled around a few times and waited for this weird shaking sensation to go away. But it didn't. I eventually got gatvol of it, sat up and put the light on. I looked down at my feet and saw the bed shaking. It wasn't shaking violently, but it was clearly visible. I grabbed my cellphone to video-record it, but the moment I pushed the record button, it stopped.
srsly... wtf?

The drugs....they work.
Maybe you have a haunted house or something? Is it possible it was an extremely vivid dream that felt real?

Sounds like a hallucinogenic drug induced visit from the 4th dimensional reptilian overlords!
My advice to you is pray for protection from the great flying spaghetti monster. May his noodly appendage watch over you in these trying times...
That's my guess though, otherwise that's rather weird.

So far I'm going with the earthquake explanation.
Although i find a little weird that nothing else in my room was shaking.

Are you sure you didn't have a special friend over and she / he tried to have some sexy-time by trying to rock your world?
Or at least rock your bed?

Re: Something weird happened last night
Nice. I've had something like this happen.
Was away in dullstroom with my family for fly fishing and the one room is supposed to be haunted.I'm sleeping in that very room. But I'm realistic and ghosts do not exist and you can't fool me with your mind games.
I'm lying in bed and I hear this snoring but it feels like it's right next to me. I think it might be myself so I stop breathing. It continues. I think it might be my dad who's in the next room but I can tell it's not him as it's too close and it's not muffled in anyway.
I start to wonder what it could be. I'm far to the right of the bed so I countdown 3...2...1... and role over quickly and the snoring instantly stops.
I was a little perturbed.

you stay in a mutli-storey building?... sounds like foundations settling or, if the building is older than 5 years, time to move...

Agreed. I also tend to look for a logical explenation, but in this particular case, I'm a bit confused.Frozenfireside wrote:Was away in dullstroom with my family for fly fishing and the one room is supposed to be haunted.I'm sleeping in that very room. Nope, I live in a granny-flat. I would really like to believe it's a problem with how it was built and the earthquake theory also sounds nice, but the only problem is nothing else in the room was shaking.rustypup wrote:you stay in a mutli-storey building?... sounds like foundations settling or, if the building is older than 5 years, time to move...
hmm.... maybe a large rat came into my room and tried to hump my bed

Hehe. You know, my dad's always going on about how there are so many mosquitos on the North Coast that they pick you up, take you for a ride and then ask you where they can drop you off again. Sooooo ...
Live near a river or a swamp or something?
Seriously though, it could've been a waking dream. As we dose off, just before we go to sleep is one of the best times for really vivid spontaneous waking dreams that usually bleed right into reality. Coulda been that.
Or maybe you're like me and kick involuntarily like a doggie as you're drifting off.
Mina.
