Hmmm. Since I sketch a fair bit I've gotten into the habit of collecting people. (NO! I don't live in a Jonathan Kellerman novel!) If I see somebody who's particularly interesting, I'll usually find myself staring at them before I can catch myself, which of course gets them fidgeting ... which gets me fidgeting because I don't like attention ... then they'll start looking pointedly away, stealing sidelong glances. You meanwhile will be terribly engrossed on the nutritional breakdown of the packet of yeast you just bought. Then they'll quickly shuffle away while they think you're not looking, and you breath a sigh of relief 'cause yeah. Mall cops can be bad news. Just ask that kid in The Dark is Rising.

Mina.

a few times if im out and i see someone sitting alone, maybe at a quiet bar and you can see they having a hard time, ill walk up and ask whats your story, often enough you will get a small grin back and then the story begins. people interest me, especially those with problems as they the most open and wanting to get things off the chest. i always tend to notice the quiet ones hiding in the corner more than the loud ones trying to be the life of the party/situation.
when in doubt, paddle out... ;)

I can just watch people for hours on end, I like to see how weird everyone else is compared to little old me

But then again, I can also just shut down and not see anyone or anything around me. Depends on my mood...
