Yeah I have pics, but not online right now and the bike's due for a spray job anyway, bought it second-hand.

/We are seriously derailing this thread...

Good move on the new lid koko, by the looks of your pics it definitely took quite a bit of impact! You didn't hurt yourself otherwise?

Yea, I lost consciousness on impact about 2:00 in the morning out on some reserve, lucky someone was nearby who saw me go down, otherwise I would've been food for the Hyenas. I don't actually remember hitting the ground. Woke up with paramedics trying to ask me a thousand questions. Apparently blacked out three times after that. I was diagnosed with severe concussion. Nasty!

Sheesh! Well, I would think it was quite hectic by the looks of the helmet.... What exactly happened Koko? Or did I miss where you posted...

Glad you're ok man! Now for the important question... how's the bike :D

EDIT: Just saw your post now, helmet is definitely poked but it did it's job quite well apparently!

How much you looking to spend on a new lid btw?

I might spend the same as my first helmet, about R700. I don't mind spending a bit more.

The bike had a softer landing then what I had, apparently it landed in the grass whilst I landed on the rocks. So mostly the cosmetics needed replacing.

My bike 2 days before the accident:

My bike straight after the accident:

And now its back on the road looking like it used to in those first pics.

I really don’t remember that bike, it was definitely not released here or maybe it was a artist impression

This is what was said under the photo:
August 17th, 2005 - First photo of the 2006 Yamaha R1. No further information yet on the model.
Maybe they made a few changes before it went on the market.
