The craziest thing you've seen lying on the road?
What's the craziest thing you've ever seen lying on the road while driving?
Get this: I was driving home last week on the N1. Then, approaching me at approximately 120KM/H, was a frikken BATH TUB. There was a BATH TUB lying in the middle of the road. How random is that? Hahaha!
So, what's yours?

We once had half a Jungle Gym, or whatever you call it, heading our way, we swung out, and an Audi got pwned..

Ouch, poor Audi. I haven't seen anything strange... yet. But I have hit a bird while driving and when I looked in the rearview mirror all I saw was feathers floating down slowly.. it just went *poof*

ROFL.it just went *poof*
I was driving with mates to the Vaal when we saw a Taxi stopped in the left hand lane of the highway. It had just been in an accident and someone had gone through the front windscreen head first and skidded on the tar scraping her entire body. She was convulsing and pretty screwed.
I saw a dude who had died after falling off the back of a bakkie.
I was driving through the wild coast when we hit a pot hold at 80 and did a 720 degree spin, causing the secretary next to us to wet herself. We just sat there shouting for more.
I've seen a Ninja pull a 500m wheelie with a passenger on the back.
I've come down the long sweeping hill by Wits from town in my dads Maxima when the thing had a chassis flex and I lost total control at 100.
Yeah I'll think of some more.
Soon Google will know everything...including how to divide by zero

Whoever dies with the most toys wins, but if he loses his soul, what has he gained in the end?
Re: The craziest thing you've seen lying on the road?

What does man fear most? That no one will understand him, or that someone truly might?
Re: The craziest thing you've seen lying on the road?
When I was working in Botswana and Namibia we used to see a lot of goats, sheep and cows in the road, that's quite hectic at night when you're doing 120km/h and you see horns
Last week I saw a pedestrian knocked over on the N3...was pretty graphic so I won't describe it.
Saw a bakkie with 5 people on the back roll...also not very pleasant.
Oh and I saw an adder crossing the road, then playing dead...I helped it across the road.
Ummm...that's about it.

Saw a man fall off a garbage truck onto his head and split it open.
Saw a giant lizard (Can't spell lekkovan) cross the road while I was on foot - had to stand very still as they are rather vicious.

I once thought the same thing, but in a residential area. Went closer to inspect. Vodacom/MTN/Whoever (see what I did there, hah!) was installing one of those tree like antennas.Scavenger wrote:A tree

If you mean Amstel - send me the memo next time! Know of at least one incident where the local SAB guy told the SAPS to help themselves - Black Label, but they weren't complanining - insurance was going to pay for it all anyway...
Was kinda fun watching the whole thing...

A surprising amount of modern pseudoscience is coming out of the environmental sector. Perhaps it should not be so surprising given that environmentalism is political rather than scientific.

Re: The craziest thing you've seen lying on the road?
1 - I've driven through a herd of Elephants at night time in Botswana. 120km/h straight through the herd which was milling around on the main road. Didn't even see them until we were amongst them. Still can't believe we didn't hit one.
2 - In Zimbabwe once we came across hundreds of chameleons crossing the road, there was a stretch of about 100m of just a sea of chameleons. Took us ages to get through.
3 - a red and silver 15 inch rim once overtook me on the freeway, and I was like, 'haha check it out, someone's wheel has come off.......hmm it looks exactly like mine....CRASH'
It was my wheel Didn't cause a big crash though, I just skidded to a halt in the emergency lane with my left rear wheel missing.
