Agreed, maybe they will still do someting with it. It's good technology and I think could have a definite future.I34z1k wrote:Pity nothing came of this... Got potential IMO.

They don't suffer from alot of the problems thato ordinary tires suffer from. they don't need to be inflated, there are no considerations about the flex of the side wall...WiK1d wrote:Honestly hold on. Who's driveway is made of nails? I've only had one puncture ever, and on my mum's car only 1 during it's 5 year lifespan. So what's so cool about these wheels?
I still think it's pretty pointless, how many times a year do you inflate your tires? And tires last a many many miles, so I still don't see the point.Prime wrote:They don't suffer from alot of the problems thato ordinary tires suffer from. they don't need to be inflated, there are no considerations about the flex of the side wall...WiK1d wrote:Honestly hold on. Actually my dad checks the pressure on our tires about once a month. and adjusts the pressure almost as often. And when you go off road, you deflate your tires slightly. Infact they'll be alot safer than tires because they do not come with all the pressue inherent problems...WiK1d wrote:I still think it's pretty pointless, how many times a year do you inflate your tires? QFT. that is the flaw with run flats, our cities are to far apart. lol:Nuke wrote:Not everyone live in the cities. Flat tires is a much bigger problem in when you drive more dirt roads. Had 2 flat tires in the part 3 months. First time got a nail, second had a 3 cm tear from a sharp rock.
I do not want to go offroad with those tires, I pretty much love my pelvisNuke wrote:Not everyone live in the cities. Flat tires is a much bigger problem in when you drive more dirt roads. Had 2 flat tires in the part 3 months. First time got a nail, second had a 3 cm tear from a sharp rock.
Dude, in the last few months I have had a spike (not a nail, a spike -see pic) through one tyre, hit a pothole that destroyed another and got a puncture (not sure from what). I'm so sick of replacing 17" tyres, gets exspensive. You're seriously lucky or I am seriously unlucky, lol. This all happened around pta.WiK1d wrote:I still think it's pretty pointless, how many times a year do you inflate your tires? I think it would have benefits all round. Besides, it looks far cheaper to make than an ordinary tire...DAE_JA_VOO wrote:In the 2 years i've had my current car, i have ONE puncture, and it was a slow puncture. My previous car never had a single puncture (granted, that one didn't get driven much).
It's an awesome concept, and the theory behind seems pretty solid, but it will only be worthwhile for SOME people, like those that live on plots and so on. For someone like myself, who never drives off road, it's pointless.
They definitely flex from what I see in the pics. Definitely not safe in high speed cornering IMO.Prime wrote:They don't suffer from alot of the problems thato ordinary tires suffer from. they don't need to be inflated, there are no considerations about the flex of the side wall...WiK1d wrote:Honestly hold on.
